OP-Poker VR Hardware Assistant

To help our community find the correct hardware required to run the brand new PokerStars VR game, we have created a simple tool below which should simplify your setup process. Select the headset you wish to use while playing PokerStars VR and explore the options which we have assembled.

Please use the links below to test your existing system for Oculus Rift or HTC Vive compatability/requirements.

Oculus Rift Hardware Options

Oculus Rift VR Headset

This is currently the hardware that the OP-Poker team are using. We recommend the Rift overall as it has the simpler user experience. Getting setup and running with Oculus is much easier and the required play space is smaller.

System - Minimum Suggested Specification

The following options should get the game running smoothly on low settings, best value set up for playing the game.

Graphics Card: GTX 1060

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X

Memory: 8GB Ram

System - Recommended Suggested Specification

The following options should enable you to run the game at high & mid settings smoothly, a good compromise between quality and value for money.

Graphics Card: GTX 1070

Processor: Intel i5-9600k

Memory: 8GB Ram

System - OVERKILL Suggested Specification

The following options should enable the best user experience. You’ll be able to run PokerStars VR at ultra quality and still retain a good framerate. Best for user experience.

Graphics Card: GTX 1080

Processor: Intel i7-8700

Memory: 16GB Ram

System - Motherboard requirements

You may require a new motherboard if you are interested in getting a VR setup. Both Oculus and HTC Vive require at least four usb 3.0 ports by themselves. Given that you often need usb 3.0 ports for other things such as external hard drives or phone charging, I’d recommend checking to see if you need an upgrade before being dissapointed upon the arrival of your VR rig.

Motherboard for AMD Ryzen processor

Motherboard for Intel processors

Power supply for all systems

Given the high CPU usage from playing VR I would strongly recommend a decent reliable power supply of at least gold standard. This should ensure that your PC will not crash during even those long poker sessions.

EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G1+

HTC Vive Hardare Options

HTC Vive VR Headset

The HTC vive is the best hardware for total immersiveness but that doesn't come without its drawbacks. The HTC vive requires more time to set up and requires a much greater play space in order to achieve fully responsive controls.
